The Power of Good Influences

I just need to express gratitude for the amazing people that Jeff and I have in our lives. We have truly been blessed with wonderful friends and family. I was talking today with my sister and when I hung up the phone, I felt very uplifted and loved. It amazes me how God has blessed us with such caring, kind, and optimistic people. What a great blessing to be around people that love us, and want the best for us.

I found a great quote that goes along with this from Spencer W. Kimball. "Always keep good company. Never waste an hour with anyone who doesn't lift you up and encourage you."

Here is another quote from Lloyd D. Newell. "Our mortal journey can so easily be sidetracked by negative influences. Instead of getting mired in pessimistic mud, we can seek the higher ground of positive and inspiring associates. Indeed, we believe in keeping company with those who are honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and those who do good to all peoples; we seek to spend time with that which is virtuous, lovely, praiseworthy, and of good report (Article of Faith 13). If we strive to emulate those ideals in our own lives, we will attract like individuals. Good and righteous people seek and find good and righteous friends. Of course, we are kind and courteous to all people, but we spend precious time with those who uplift and inspire, who encourage spirituality, and who want for us eternal joy."
