Lincoln's First Hair Cut

This little guy was in desperate need of a trim. Even though Lincoln is our third child this is really the first time I have ever given a haircut to a baby. Logan was getting haircuts when he was probably less than a month old. I'm exaggerating, but I know when we saw him for the first time he had already had a few haircuts. And we have never had to cut Bella's hair. That is one of the many great things about her curly hair, it just keeps getting longer and curlier.

Anyway getting back to Lincoln as you can see from the pictures below his hair was just getting too long.
It also started to look like he had a rat tail growing in the back.
When his hair got wet it was long and stringy. Jeff wanted to see if it got curlier once we moved to Missouri and the air was more humid. Jeff had cute little curls when he was a baby, unfortunately it wasn't curly enough to make me want to keep it.
We set the big guy in his chair and armed him with the necessities like a chocolate chip cookie (after all chocolate can make even the worst experience better).
I started on the back first. I think I might have cried a little. I couldn't get over the feeling that my baby was no longer a little baby.
The rat tail is officially gone.
Once I butchered the rest of Lincoln's hair daddy decided to take over, and try and fix what I had done.
By this point Lincoln had had enough.
Lucky for us he doesn't stay mad for long. He really did a great job during the whole haircut.
And here is the finished product. He looks older to me. When I look at him now he doesn't have that baby look quite as much. It makes me sad to think he is growing up so quickly.
At least he still likes to cuddle. It took me awhile to get used to his new look, but I think he looks really cute.
