I think once I do this post I will FINALLY be all caught up on my blog. My parents came for a visit back in November. They actually got here the day before Halloween, so they were able to see the kids dressed up and go trick-or-treating with us.
A couple days after that we decided to take a trip to Saint Louis. My mom's brother, Craig, lives there so we were able to visit with his family. Our little Lincoln was not feeling well so my parents took the two oldest to see the arch. From the report that I got everyone had a great time.
When the kids got home they told me they took a space ship up to the top of a rainbow.
Once we got back to Kansas City our little Lincoln was still not feeling any better. When his fever kept reaching 103 and 104 we decided to take him to the urgent care clinic. They told us he probably had Rosiola and hopefully it would ease up in a few days. Sure enough he was back to his happy self not long after that.
We are surrounded by some great church history sites, and my parents were excited to see as many as possible. One day Logan, Bella, my dad, and I headed over to Independence to visit the church visitor center. The kids did great and enjoyed the activities there. We also went to the visitor center at Liberty, but Bella didn't want much to do with sitting quietly and listening ~ which is why I don't have many pictures of that outing.
Any place where Bella can ride a horse, is a good place in her book.
Sitting on the grass at the temple lot in Independence, MO.
Another amazing place that I hadn't been to yet was the Crown Center and Kaleidoscope. Hallmark is based out of Kansas City, so they have a pretty spectacular center located in downtown.
The stores were starting to set up their displays for the Christmas holiday.
Bella insisted on having her picture taken by every Santa she could see.
Bella LOVED riding the escalator while Papa and her waited for Logan and Mimi to finish their shopping.
After that we were off to Kaleidoscope. I have no way of adequately describing this place, except that it's like a Willy Wonka factor for artists. It was incredible! I think we spent at least an hour there, and the time just flew by.
This was a sink to wash paint brushes and hands. AMAZING!
Don't you just love the chairs?!?
Next we were off to lunch at Fritz's. The food left a lot to be desired, but the kids got a real kick out of having their lunch delivered to them by a train. It was pretty cute watching how excited they were by the whole thing.
After lunch it was on to the Crayola store where the kids played some more.
Another stop was the Money Museum. It was kind of fascinating seeing money from the 1700s.
I'm not sure if Logan is excited to show me his picture, or giving me a sign that he is finished being at the money museum.
We also got to go to the Kansas City zoo for the first time. It was a little chilly that day, but we had such a fun time walking around and seeing the exhibits.
My parents were also able to take a day trip over to Far West. They brought back these amazing little green balls. They are called hedge apples. I had never seen them before, but I guess they grow on lots of the trees in that area. I loved them, and used them for quite a while as decorations on my kitchen table.
I also put my dad to work while he was here. I had been wanting some shelves for my kitchen for awhile now. My dad is a pretty handy guy, so I thought he would be able to help me make some while he was here. I was still amazed at how quickly he built them, and they even looked ten times better then the original picture I showed him. Here is a picture of them from back in Thanksgiving. I absolutely LOVE and ADORE them!
Every time the kids talk to Mimi and Papa on the phone they always ask them, "When are you coming back to Missouri?" So when are you coming back to Missouri?

You get to go to so many fun places!!! My word! And I LOVE the shelves! So gorgeous! I have the same Thanksgiving printables!
Woosh, what a whirl-wind trip! We did get to do a lot in spite of me, Binks, and Shauna getting sick!?! As far as when we come again - it can't be soon enough for me. Thanks for being such great hosts Burnetts. Sure love you guys,
Mimi
