This past weekend I had a baby shower to go to. Usually I try and crochet a baby blanket, but I've been a little behind in my down time. :) Instead of a blanket I decided to make a car seat cover for the new mom. A few months ago I had won a similar one on a giveaway on some one's blog, so I was able to use it as a pattern.
I actually really like how it turned out. I had all the supplies at home, so I didn't even have to leave the house.
There is Velcro strips under the bands to attach it to the car seat.
Since I didn't have large enough buttons to add as decoration I made some simple yo-yos and added a flower and button.
The finished product. Hopefully the new mom liked it.

And you say you can't sew!?!?! Looks great!
Love Mom
SHAUNA!!! I am in the process of getting my grandma to sew one of these for me (since I can't sew worth beans). I found a tutorial on a blog and thought it was a genious idea. I always draped blankets over my girls and it would slide all over the place. Then I saw a lady in a store with one of these and just fell in love. BUT... I am having the hardest time with fabric. The fabric you have in this picture is GORGEOUS and exactly what I am looking for. My problem is I'll find something I like and it's $10 a yard and I need at least two yards and at the end of the day I can't see myself spending $25 on a car seat cover! My grandma, the quilter, thinks this is cheap fabric... thoughts?
That is SO cute! Any chance of sharing your pattern?
