Genevieve's Blessing

Miss. Genevieve
Yesterday we were able to go see our newest niece, Evie, be blessed. She was adorable and her dad did a great job with her blessing. I think he shocked even himself when in her blessing he talked about Evie's interactions with her brothers and sisters. They have two girls (including Evie) and one boy, right now. I'm sure my mom was happy to hear that Kirsten will be giving her more grand kids. Proud Aunt and Uncle

Things I love about this picture:

  1. Liam's smile. It's all or nothing.
  2. Evie's expression towards her brother. It cracks me up.
  3. No matter what is going on around her Maddy can always pull together a beautiful smile.

Evie's dress kind of had an interesting story. When Jeff and I were living in Mexico I told him that I would like to get a blessing outfit while we were there. I have gotten several girl blessing dressings from places that we have lived while outside the U.S. I love to see how different cultures make their designs, and I thought it would be fun to have a story to tell our daughters about where their dresses came from. So for my birthday Jeff bought me a gorgeous girl blessing outfit. It came with the dress, a cap, and a little lace cape. I told my sister about it and she loved the look of them also. She asked if I could pick one up for her also. Because they are made right there in Mexico they are very reasonably priced. I think for all three items I paid under $20.00. With all the lace, fabric, and detail work I think it was a great buy. I can't wait for the day when Jeff and I will be able to see our little girls in their blessing outfits too.

My parents were visiting your sisters ward yesterday. And she told me about Genevieve's blessing and how cute and beautiful she was! I love the story behind the blessing dress! What a very cool thing to be able to share with your little ones about their blessing outfits!
