Lately Bella has been on this huge princess kick. I'm actually not even sure how she got started with it since our house is mainly filled with Thomas the trains, cars, and trucks. Some how she learned about princesses and it's made me very aware to the fact that I need to start getting her some more girly toys, poor thing.
We have one Disney dvd ~ Aladdin, which she is constantly dragging out of the drawer asking if she can watch the princess movie. Last weekend we were at Barnes and Noble and found a book on clearance with several different princess in it. I think it has become her new favorite item. She asks for it to be read to her every night, and it's the first thing she asks for in the morning.
The only problem is the book is as big as she is. She tries to carry it around the house and the whole time she is mumbling, "So heavy!"
Last Sunday in church she even spotted a little girls Disney princess book from across the room, and began yelling "Princess Book", over and over.
I'm so glad my little princess is in this fun stage of life. Any suggestions on where to find fun/affordable princess items?

Hmmm, I'm trying to think because we have plenty of princess stuff/books! :) We love princesses in our house of course. We got this huge princess book at TJ Maxx called "the princess collection" and it has 300 pages of different princess stories of every princess you can imagine. We love that book. We got it for $5. We've gotten princess stickers/notebooks and whatnot in the $ section of Target also. But for great prices if you come across a Ross or TJ Maxx type of store. I would also check ebay! :)
We also got some small princess figurines for Lylee's last birthday and the girls love that. We were excited because it had Mulan, Lylee's favorite. Oh, and that book I was talking about is at our library I saw on their online system. You should see if yours has anything...
I don't know about princess books, but we have been able to find most of our kids' favorite books on Amazon for great prices. The last two books I bought were only 1.99 plus shipping.
If she likes any old princess (not just the disney ones), a cute book is Princess Hyacinth (The Surprising Tale of a Girl Who Floated).
So Maddy is all about the princesses, she could teach Bella a thing or two. So Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, those type of stores always have princess stuff. Also, the dollar tree and the dollar sections at Michaels and Target usually have princess stuff. I swore that I would never buy my children "character" clothing, and I am eating my words. As much as I really don't like the "character" clothes, it is really fun to see Maddy so excited to wear her princess stuff, also I try to limit the princess characters to pjs, which Maddy tends to wear whenever, so I guess I have pretty much lost this battle.
Grandma's are a great source for bringing "Princess things" for little girls.
See ya soon,
Love,
Mimi
I bet she would love some dress-ups. Especially the shoes!! Julia is already enjoying them! I bet you could try Unique.
That is so funny. Little Miss is going through the same phase. The best thing we have discovered is the library. They have a ton of Disney book and you can keep the books for almost two months if you renew. The only tricky part is sneaking them out of the house to return them.
The other funny thing is that we bought Little Miss a couple pairs of princess underwear and then just regular underwear. Little Miss is devastated any time the princess underwear is dirty.
Ha ha! That would probably be my girls rubbing off on her! I loved how she came over and collected all the princess paraphernalia she could find! So darling!
If you are looking at other then Disney stuff, we found that we LOVE the barbie movies...I was leery of them at first, but was really surprised how much *I* like them (well, most of them...a few are annoying...). Our favorites are Rapunzel, and Princess and the Pauper (that one is my favorite).
