Discovering Missouri

Every Sunday on our way to church we drive by the most amazing park. I can only imagine what this park looks like in the eyes of a young child. Every week we listen to the kids ooh and awe over it, and plead to go and play. I finally decided to take the kids to the Penguin Park, and they really enjoy it.
They have the most amazing animals around the park. I'm sure they are well over 20 feet high. It really is impressive.
Some of the animals even have slides built right into them. Do you see our little guy at the bottom of the kangaroo waiting patiently for his big brother and sister to come down the slide?
What park would be complete with out a large purple dinosaur? At least it's not named Barney.

Lately the kids have been completely enthralled with merry-go-rounds. I actually have to watch them and tell them to get off sometimes because they won't stop, and then complain about feeling sick to their stomachs. Silly kids!

At least I have this little guy to sit on the bench and keep me company while the other two run around like crazy.
He is still a huge thumb sucker.
My crazy bunch.
The kids and I have actually really been enjoying getting out of the house and seeing all the great things that Kansas City has to offer. We have already met some fantastic people who have been really good about calling us, and inviting us to tag along with them. I really think that is one of the main reasons why I have been able to keep my sanity while Jeff has been keeping up with the schedule that he has had.

One of our new favorite places is called the Parkville Nature Sanctuary. It is a great little hike with waterfalls and nature trails. It really is a beautiful place, and a great way to let the kids run off some energy.

The kids found a huge moth and they were all mesmerized with it.
