How we spent our Halloween

What does this picture have to do with Halloween you might ask...  this is what we did last night.  Let me explain.  For some reason when our pediatrician said that Bella should start on eating meat, he failed to mention that it might be a good idea to introduce the new food slowly.  Well over the last few days I was so proud of our little girl when she would eat a whole jar of turkey, ham, or chicken in one sitting.

Boy did we learn the hard way (literally the hard way) about what happens to all that solid food on a little girl's developing stomach.  It started on the way home from picking Jeff up yesterday, when Bella would just start to cry.  If there is one thing about Bella, she never cries just to cry.  Obviously we knew something was wrong.

Basically our Friday night consisted of both Bella and I in tears, and Jeff trying to stay calm for the both of us.  And when I say Bella was crying she was really crying practically screaming.  It was even worse than when she goes in for her shots.  I felt so bad for her.  It's such an awful feeling seeing your child in pain, and not being able to help them.  Poor Jeff basically had two hysterical girls on his hands, but he handled it like a champ.

Bella finally went down to sleep, but she is still not feeling 100%.  So that about sums up how we spent our Halloween night.  We didn't go to the Halloween party that we were invited to, we didn't get to meet new people and start to try and make some new friends, Jeff and I didn't wear our Halloween costumes that I made, but we did get to see what an amazing father and husband Jeff is, we did get to see the priesthood power in action, and we did get to spend time together as a family.

Hopefully your Halloween wasn't such a 'bummer' and was a little more enjoyable than Bellas.

Ohhhhh poor little girl! Yep, I've been there! When Kate first started rice cereal, she loved it so much that was all she ate... and you can see where that one's going also. We missed you last night but at least we got to see pictures of your DARLING ladybug!!! That is the cutest thing ever! You should teach me how to make a no-sew tutu. Hope she's feeling better soon!

Sorry to hear that, sounds like our Halloween night, but definitely worse! Hope she is getting through it now. We had a party as well, but our little girl was a total screaming crying tired wreck at the wrong time...so despite trying to go we ended up at home. We did make sure to snag some cheap clearance Halloween candy today to make up for it. :) I guess there's next year! Hope this week is much better for you guys!

That's awful! We had a similar situation. Eleanor had a really bad diaper rash one time after going #2, so she decided not to do it again! She was 6 or 7 months old, and she hadn't gone for at least 5 days. Our Doc said to give her half a teaspoon of mineral oil about three times a day, and if that didn't work, a glycerin suppository. It was miserable, but whenever we've needed to get her regular since then, we use a little mineral oil and it works like a charm. It softens it up a bit and increases the "urge." Good luck!
