Bella Turns 1

Well I had some grandiose ideas for Bella's first birthday on Saturday, but as I was puking my guts out Saturday morning at around 3:00 am I got an inkling that things might not go according to plan.  I think I ended up getting food poising, or something.  You would think that I would learn that no matter how hard I try and plan things they never go according to how I think they should.  Maybe that is part of life, learning to enjoy the life and the moments that you are given.

So as I was camped out on the couch I had my arms full of these two little ones.  Really could life get any better, I think not.
Once everyone was able to get a little more rest we let Bella open her gifts.  Over the last few weeks she has started doing this smile every time a camera is in sight.

What a little ham.

Bella supervising the production of her new toy.  She wanted to make sure Daddy got it just right.
We found this ride on / walker toy, and thought it would help her to start walking more.  After a quick instruction session with her dad, she decided she had it under control.

She seems pretty proud of herself.

Only 14 more years and it won't be a toy car that she will be behind.  It really makes me stop and hold her a little tighter and kiss her a little more, when I think about how fast time goes.  This year has just flown by, and I can only imagine how it won't be slowing down anytime soon.
I think we have a basketball player in the family.  While I was camped out on the couch I turned on a little 'March Madness'.  Bella couldn't get enough of it.  She loved watching the game.

Happy Birthday my brown eyed girl.  I love you forever and always.

I am so sorry Shauna that your tummy made other plans for you. What is that saying, "The best made plans are sometimes...." I forgot the rest, I am a dork. It looks like your day was wonderful at home with the family!

Sorry you were sick. And sorry things didnt go as planned. I had big plans for McCoy's birthday too, and was even planning a whole month in advance. In the end nothing worked out how I wanted. It was Christmas and everyone was busy or snowed in. So it was just my parents and Bryce's parents. I was sad that no cousins were able to make it. Oh well. Bella is too cute, I serisously can't believe she is one, time goes by all too fast for sure!
