Logan Turns 4

I'm not sure that I can believe that our little Logan is turning four today. He sure is an amazing boy. As I sit here and think about Logan and everything that he has been through in his short little life, it brings me to tears. He has taught me a great deal about patience, and the love that our Heavenly Father has for each of us.
We struggled so much to get him home to us, and sometimes I wondered if he would ever make it. Logan and I have experienced many ups and downs together. I remember the first time I got to lay eyes on him. I was so worried that he wouldn't like me, or that he would be afraid of Jeff and I. But I remember like it was yesterday standing in that hotel lobby in Guatemala and reaching out for him, and him giving me the biggest hug. He knew that I was his mommy and I knew that he was my son.
I remember having to give him back to his foster family every time we had to leave Guatemala. I could feel my heart being crushed. Through those experiences I learned a small amount of what Heavenly Father must have felt, having to let his Son leave his presence.
I always kept telling myself that when Logan came home everything would be perfect, but honestly we have had to work on things. Logan can really push my buttons, but I think that is because we are a lot alike. I see a lot of myself in him, and sometimes the things that drive me crazy about him, are the things that I know I need to fix in myself.
Logan is my deep thinker. He never jumps in to new situations. He likes to stand in the background and watch people, before he is comfortable letting himself open up.
He has got one of the softest and sweetest hearts I have ever seen in anyone. He is constantly worried about others, and wanting to make their lives better and more comfortable.
Logan is my hero. He is constantly showing me what is possible in life. He has an eternal optimistic outlook on life.
Logan laughs all the time. He laughs while playing with his sister, he laughs right before he goes to bed, he laughs when he is excited, he laughs when he is content, he laughs to make others laugh.
He loves being outside and in nature. I can't wait to get this little boy a yard, because he could spend hours playing in the dirt and running around.
Logan is a huge lover boy. He is quick to give hugs and kisses freely. He loves to be loved. If you show him love he will be your friend for life.
Logan LOVES the temple. He is constantly asking if we can go and visit the temple. He thanks Heavenly Father in his prayers for the temples. He talks about getting married in the temple. He loves going to the temple.
Logan loves his eternal family. He is a phenomenal older brother. He is so gentle and kind to Lincoln, and adores his younger sister Bella. Logan is very content to follow Bella around, and do whatever she wants him to.
We thank Heavenly Father every day for sending our son to us. I know that as we go through the years there will be many more ups and downs, but I know that our love will continue to grow as well. It is a miracle to have Logan in our lives, and I'm grateful that I get to be his mommy.

Happy Birthday Logan!
We love you forever and always.
