Logan's Birthday Weekend

We decided to celebrate Logan's birthday on Saturday so Jeff could be home and partake in the fun. We were pretty low key this year, but we had a great day celebrating our little boy.

I came up with the idea to get a bunch of balloons, and put them in Logan's room while he was sleeping. I'll tell you what I think it was the best $2.00 I have ever spent. Logan and Bella LOVED it. I think we might make it a new family tradition. Jeff (mainly Jeff) and I blew up 50 balloons on Friday night, so when Logan woke up on Saturday he was thrilled to see his room covered with balloons.
Bella could hardly believe her eyes.

After almost an hour of playing in the balloons, Bella was tuckered out.
Logan decided to join her in a little nap.
What a happy birthday boy!
After breakfast we decided to open up his presents. Thanks everyone for sending him such great gifts. He loved everything he received.

We decided to wrap up some new books for Bella as well. Here she is studying her new Tinker Bell book.
One of the gifts that Mimi and Papa sent Logan was some new Legos. Jeff and Logan spent almost an hour putting it all together. I think both Jeff and Logan enjoyed the time they got to spend together. Logan actually put the whole thing together himself. Jeff would show him a picture, and then Logan figured out where to put the pieces.
While the boys were working on putting together their Legos, Bella and I headed into the kitchen to make Logan's birthday cake.
Logan had requested a square cake with Teddy bears, so that's what he got. I was amazed how easy and simple his cake was, and he was still incredibly happy with it. Some of you might remember my attempt at a train cake the previous year. After this year I've decided that easy and simple is the way to go.

Here is the finished product. I forgot to take a picture of it until after we cut into it.

Where was Lincoln during the festivities? This was how Lincoln enjoyed the party.
Logan requested that we have pizza for dinner. He is so easy to please.

Blowing out his birthday candles.
I think everyone enjoyed eating the cake.

Throughout the day Logan got lots of phone calls wishing him a happy birthday. It was a great day, and it was so fun to see how happy our little Logan was.
On Sunday we were able to watch Logan participate in the primary program for the first time. It was so fun to see him singing and smiling up there on the stage. I made Jeff take a quick picture of my boys and I before we left for church. I think the primary program is one of my favorite Sundays of the year.
That was our fun weekend. Stay tuned for more excitement and write ups to come (i.e. ~ Halloween party at Karlie's house, two fun filled days of preschool at our house this week, ward trunk~or~treat on Saturday, and I'm sure many more things that I just can't think of at the moment).

I hope Lincoln and I can control our excitement. : )
Here are a few videos taken on Logan's birthday.

How fun! I agree about the cake. I've just done cupcakes for several years, and the kids love them. I stress over the party too much to stress over some fancy cake, too!

I've been terrible about keeping up with blogs lately, so it's fun to come back and see how you're doing. I love the picture of you and your boys.

What a great birthday celebration. Thanks for sharing the pics and videos. Almost as good as being there. Love the balloon idea. It's those kind of things that they will remember most. Love ya bunches Sir Logan.
