Pinewood Derby

Last Friday Logan was able to participate in his first pinewood derby race.  Because of some obedience issues (more like lack of obedience) Bella and I had to stay home from the activity.  I was super bummed that we didn't get to see Logan race his car, but we had fun working on it together.

We were able to pick up a kit at the local Hobby Lobby store.  Have I mentioned lately how much I love that store?  It is by far my favorite 'play ground'.  I could probably spend hours there.  

Anyway we picked up a kit for Logan, and he went to town painting his car.  I learned from experience that this little man has to paint shirtless, because the artist in him gets paint everywhere.  I guess I should have made him a paint smock (like this one) for home too.

I thought it was pretty cute how he kept needing to take a drink of lemonade every two seconds.  That boy sure loves a tall glass of lemonade.

He loaded gobs and gobs of paint on this bad boy.  It was quite the sight.  Jeff thought it would be a fun tradition to put Logan's age somewhere on his car.

He was beyond excited to get to the church and race his car.  When he got home he told me all about how his car went super fast.  He asked if he could go back the next day and race his car again, so he could get a trophy.  I think we might need Papa to help us out on the next one.  We were thinking it could be an across state lines car.  Papa does the cutting, and we do the painting and sanding.  What do you think Papa are you up for the challenge?
