Dumpster Diving

As some of you might know my husband is the king of dumpster diving, and finding awesome things.

For example here is a picture taken earlier this year of the McClaren double stroller that Jeff saved from the trash. Yep Jeff has come mad skills.
Wanting to follow in Jeff's footsteps I was super excited when I found these two lamps out on the curb when I went to visit a friend. That is one problem about our apartment is the lack of light fixtures, so I was pretty excited to find a lamp for Bella's room.
It could probably use some work, but free is free.
But Jeff not to be out done by his wife pulled out all the stops last week. We have both been trying to do a better job about getting some food storage built up for our family. One of my biggest complaints is the lack of storage space in our apartment.

Originally we have been using this pathetic plastic shelf in our laundry / pantry / water heater / catch all room.
At least that was what we were using until Jeff brought home this amazing shelving system that he found by the garbage. It instantly opened up a world of possibilities for us. It fit exactly in place right in front of the water heater because it has a curve to it. I don't think we could have made anything to fit so perfectly. It's almost become a game now to see what Jeff will bring home next.
I also had to post these pictures of the skirt I made Bella. I realized the other day that Logan and Bella don't have any Halloween clothes. I made this skirt for Bella with things that I had around the house. Total cost = $0
This is a close up of the skirt.

First of all, mad skills on finding that shelf! It's perfect! Secondly, LOVE, love the skirt! I'm so jealous of your craft skills! I sure wish I could sew!

AMazing. Loved the skirt. I told you could sew!!! The food storage shelf is great. Isn't it something that when you are trying to do what the Lord wants us to do, things just seem to fall into place. (hint - food storage is going to be a part of your Christmas this year!?!?!)
Love,
Mimi

So cute. I love the skirt.

I have heard of people dumpster diving, but never knew anyone who actually did it. I actally watched the news or some program about a couple who were dumpster divers. They got all sorts of things, even food. Now that I think about it I guess my brother has found a few good finds from a dumpster. Anyway, pretty awesome.
