Our 4Th of July started early this year. On Saturday morning we headed over to the church to watch the boy scouts do the flag raising ceremony. The kids always enjoy this. The event started at 8:00 am, and Logan was so impressed that the moon was still out.
After the flag raising we headed into the church for the pancake breakfast. Logan polished off his plate before I even finished my first helping, so we headed back and got him a whole other plate full. He finished that plate off too.
Bella and Daddy really enjoyed their blueberry pancakes.
This morning we got decked out in our red, white, and blue.
I was super excited for church today, because it was Logan's first time getting to participate in an assignment in primary. He was asked to give the prayer. I worked with him during the week telling him about how fun it was going to be, and tried to explain how it all worked. I got my camera all charged, and I was so thrilled to get to see him get up to that little podium for the first time.
(This is Logan humoring his Mommy, and pretending to say a prayer.)
For some reason I had gotten it into my head that he was going to be giving the prayer when I was in the primary room during the third hour. Imagine my surprise when Jeff came into my class room after the second hour and said, "You aren't going to like this." Apparently Logan gave the prayer at the beginning of the second hour. I missed the whole thing! As Jeff was telling me all about it, I busted into tears. Blame it on the pregnancy hormones, but I was devastated. I couldn't believe that I had missed the whole thing. I felt like it was another one of Logan's 'firsts' that I completely missed out on. There have been so many of those firsts, and I was so bummed that yet again I missed out.
Anyway after church I made Logan get back up to the pulpit so I could snap some quick pictures. Jeff says he looks like a politician, but I just think he looks super handsome.
This last picture is for my sister, Kirsten. She has been asking me for a recent "really prego picture". This was taken today, so you can see my big belly in all it's glory.
Tomorrow morning we are going to try and head over to a 4Th of July parade. I'm loving how our 4Th of July just keeps going and going. Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday as well.

Love the prego picture. You little thing. You aren't supposed to look cute in 95 degree weather and 9 months pregnant.
Logan looked so cute. Don't worry about missing out on the firsts. Sometimes when we build up certain events they end of being a disappointment. Just remember that you are the first person to kiss him every morning. The first person he will turn to when he is hurt or needs a hug. You are the first great influence in his life. The first person who will help build his character. Don't underestimate these firsts, while they may be "smaller" they are the ones that will have the most influence in his life. In reality it is the daily recurring moments of life that he will remember more than the one time firsts.
