Cute Features: Strawberry blond hair, beautiful little lips, he has his daddy's cute chin, and is just incredibly sweet and handsome.

What an amazing experience we have had meeting our beautiful little boy. He is such a blessing, joy, and fantastic addition to our family.

We had a very quick and pleasant delivery experience. My water broke this morning around 4:00 am. We headed over to the hospital at around 5:30. When they checked me at about 6:00 I was already dilated to 9 centimeters. They gave me an epidural at 7:00. I started pushing at 8:40 and Lincoln arrived at 10:14 am. The nurses and doctors were amazed at how quickly the whole process went for it being my first pregnancy. It was a wonderfully spiritual experience, and a true miracle in our lives.

Unfortunately our little guy had to go to the NICU shortly after his arrival. He had his first bowel movement when he was still in the womb, and there was a fear that he may have aspirated (breathed in) a little into his lungs. The presentation for this was the fact that he was grunting instead of full out wailing when he was born. They took an x-ray and found a small pneumothorax (air pocket) at the top of his lungs. The doctors say that his stats are fine, and so the body should purge the air pocket, no problem, it will just take time. He is on antibiotics just to be sure that he doesn't come down with an infection because of the particulates he may have aspirated. They are keeping him in the NICU for at least 48 hours, and they will assess his progress on Thursday to determine when we can take him home.
