So yesterday I turned 30. I feel like I should have been in a 'meeting', or something. "Hi my name is Shauna and I'm 30". Yikes! I was actually not really looking forward to this birthday. There is something about those milestone birthdays that makes you stop and reflect at where you have been, and where you are going.
Having just moved here recently I was wondering if anyone would even know it was my birthday. It's kind of funny and sad in the same way that my parents actually forgot it was my birthday. After talking with them three different times throughout the day, and them not saying anything I pretty much figured they had forgotten. To cut them some slack they have a lot on their minds right now. I was thinking if this is how my 30th birthday is going to go, I mine as well stay 29 forever:)
Not to fear my husband, family, and friends really made it a perfect day. It amazed me all the warm wishes people sent me throughout the day. It was such a great feeling to feel so loved. The kids were super kind to me, and took nice long naps. Yeah! And then there is my amazing and wonderful husband. I have no idea what I would do without him. At one point during the day we were laughing so hard (the kind of laugh that just makes your sides hurt), and I just thought how beautiful and amazing life is. Of course having Jeff in my life is what makes it beautiful and amazing.
This is what I opened our front door to. Krista you rock!
The kids had a ball playing with all the confetti left on the floor.
Jeff took me to this amazing restaurant. The steaks were so tender and delicious. Here is a little history about the area where the restaurant sits. "Past this spot came George Washington, pioneers seeking to settle the Western territories and Civil War Troops." Isn't that amazing? There is so much incredible history in this area.
I loved all the tulips they had out front.
Speaking of tulips, look what was delivered to our place. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers, because they always remind me that spring is on it's way. In Oregon they have amazing tulip fields. They even have a tulip festival.
Thanks everyone for your calls, emails, letter, and notes. I loved them all!!! You helped make my 30th birthday not so scary!!!

Happy Birthday Shauna! Some people forgot my birthday too, and sometimes it feels nice not to have the attention. Glad that you were spoiled by the hubby though. That makes all the difference!
Wow! Looks like you got the WORKS for #30!!! Dont worry, its not the actual age that matters! Its how you feel! =) Its just A number! You dont look 30!!!
Happy Birthday!! If it makes you feel any better I totally was guessing your were maybe 25. I thought you were younger than me for sure. Way to stay young and hot looking. I'll be there in a few years...Hopefully my celebration is as awesome as yours!!
Happy birthday! I didn't know it was yesterday! I would have wished you an on-time happy b-day!
HAPPY 30th Shauna!!!!! Dang, I wish I had known it was your birthday yesterday! I'm a BIG birthday person and like to be able to send Happy Birthday wishes on their day!! Darn it! You'll have to forgive the belated wishes!! :) Glad you had such an AWESOME day!!
That's nice! Way to go Jeff! You two look really great at your dinner! I'm glad it was good!
Happy belated birthday! I am glad that your family spoiled you. And if it makes you feel better my parents both forgot to call me on my last birthday as well.
I'm one of those people that had no idea it was your birthday. You look so good for 30! I don't see anything to feel bad about. Thanks for the blanket. You are so nice. Sorry we didn't stay long. It was so precious to see Logan just giggling. What a sweet little boy!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Oh man. I'm so embarrassed by the door. Mostly I like the big X in streamers. Um by that point my fingers were too numb to do anything sensible with the streamers. It was COLD! But yay I'm glad the confetti worked like confetti should! Ha ha! Sorry for the mess...
Hi Shauna, of course you can put my blog link up. How polite of you to ask! I'm so glad you don't mind me following your blog, it's really fun! I'm only sad I haven't been following it from the beginning! :) Keep up the good blogging and wonderful stories!
Hey Shauna,
Happy belated Birthday! I am glad you had a great day despite parents forgetting!
Your kids look adorable in the Easter get-up! I love Logan's suit and hat! You do such a good job with those two!
I completely understand the egg dying/throwing experience. I too love to do all the fun holiday traditions no matter what age my kids are;)
