Jeff and I started this saying after having children, "Is it Friday yet?" when we have had a particularly trying or demanding week. I just can't wait till the weekend and knowing that I will have an extra pair of hands around to help out. I think we are having one of those weeks.
Recently Jeff and I have been talking about how I haven't been taking very much time to do things for myself. I actually think most mothers face this dilemma. As a mother you are on twenty four seven, and it's still important to be there as a wife for your husband. At the end of the day it doesn't leave a whole lot of time for much else. Jeff has told me that I need to start doing more things for myself during the day.
Over the past few weeks Logan has decided to take his diaper apart sometime during the night or morning. Every morning this week I go into his room and he is covered with pee, along with everything else. I have no idea what to do with him? I've tried everything I can think of and nothing is working. So this morning was o
ur regular routine of stripping Logan down throwing him in the shower and changing everything in his bed. I got him dressed and both kids feed, and then decided to try and take Jeff's advice and do something for me. I turned on my Jillian Michaels kick butt work out video. Not even ten minutes into the video I turn around to find
this...
Yep some how she grabbed the remainder of her yogurt off the table and decided to help herself.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?
For some reason I don't think she was the only culprit. He even managed to get it in his hair as well.

This is SO hard to to do. Some days I'm great at it, and some days I'm not. Just a hit or miss type of thing. (BTW, doesn't Jillian Michaels totally kill you?! I hate and love her at the same time.) I get together with a friend on Tuesday nights to exercise...want to join us?
As for the diaper thing, a lot of my other twin mommy friends say to buy pjs one size bigger and put him in them backwards. Basically put the zipper or buttons in the back so he can't open them himself. For naps too. Duct tape sometimes works, or packing tape. Or if you can't put him in things backwards, saftey pin all zippers shut.
Good luck!
Don't you just love being a mommy??These are the days that will become precious memories when you are old like me!!
Now might be a good time to try the whole potty training thing. I realize that that won't solve the whole nighttime thing for a while, but maybe he is ready for something different! Worth a try!
Who knew a little bit of yogurt could go such a long way? I'm always amazed at how you get such beautiful pictures of your beautiful children even when they're obviously doing things to make you crazy. You must have a LOT more patience than I do!
You're a fabulous mom!! I bet you have more patience then I'll ever have! I feel the same ways most days, like the craziness doesn't end! We have the same talks here about me getting some "me" time and it just doesn't really happen. Blogging is sadly my only "me" time but I'll take it! :) Also, how is the Jillian tape? We love Biggest Loser over here so I've always been curious when I see them in the store!
I totally agree with Safire. Duct tape was my saving grace... Also, make him clean it up with you. I know that sounds like it would be a head ache, and frankly it is, but with Sheepie it only took a few times having to clean up some of the more gross things before he put two and two together and stopped doing it.
I wish I had an answer to the bigger problem at hand, but I find myself facing the same issues. We even have tried to set up a 'night' each week were I have to go out on my own, and yet something always seems to drag me back in before I even make it out the door.
Just plop them in their cribs for 10 minutes, lock yourself in the bathroom and paint your toes a summery colour... it will work magic. Good luck!
What stinkers! Some days...weeks are just hard. But hang in there! You are a fabulous mom!!
Hey, I was going to say duct tape too! I used packing tape once when we ran out of diapers except for one, which the velcro tab had been pulled off... I have totally had the same week as you. Yesterday was EXACTLY the same for us, except for 2 differences: 1) I only made it through 5 minutes of the Jillian Michaels video, and 2) instead of scrubbing yogurt out of their hair, I was calling poison control. I kid you not. Let's BOTH take some "me time" and take off! We can have a kid-free girls' weekend! I'm totally serious. At least you do have the weekends. Travis thinks Saturdays are SUPER BONUS weekdays and spends twice as much time in the lab.
