Our Brave Bella

I just had to open with this picture.  I love how Bella is running to her daddy's arms for comfort.  I also love her little tush hanging out of her hospital gown.  Too cute!!!
If you want to know about how our day went read on, or you can skip it and look at pictures of our beautiful Bella.

Thankfully Jeff stayed home in the morning so that he could go into D.C. with us.  I swear he is my rock, I have no idea what I would do without him.  We ended up leaving our house a little after 8:00 am (our appointment was at 10:00), and we didn't get home until after 2:00 pm.  They ended up running three different tests on her: an ultrasound, x-ray, and a VCUG.  She did well with the first two procedures.   The worst part of those was that she hated being restrained, but thankfully they weren't invasive.  The last test we ended up having to wait for a long time to do it, because they were down to only one functional machine.  The VCUG was the most painful and invasive, so I guess it's good that they did that one last.  The procedure involves them sticking a catheter into Bella.  They injected her with a dye to see if her bladder was emptying properly.  They had to leave the catheter in her for over a half hour.  She was such a brave little girl.  It was horrible hearing her cry, but once the procedures were done she was so quick to put on a smile and start saying, "hi" to everyone again.

We heard back from the doctor's, and the results from all the tests were good feedback.  The doctor said that everything looked good, and that we could finally take her off the antibiotics that she has been on for over the past month.  We were really happy to hear that everything looked OK.  I was sad that she had to go through all that pain, but I'm glad that we aren't having to face the alternative which would have been surgery.

Our cute little patient!
We enjoyed some people watching during our stay at the hospital.
We met this adorable little boy.  Doesn't he look like he fits into our family:)  Someone asked us if he and Bella were twins.
Poor Logan was quite the trooper with the waiting game that we had to play.

The nurses and staff were amazing at this hospital.  When Bella was finally done the nurses opened up this huge closet with every imaginable toy.  They picked the perfect little puppy for Bella to take home and love on.
She couldn't get enough cuddles from this guy.
After all was said and done we had one little exhausted girl on our hands.  She is doing well.  She is still a little sore and cranky today, but I'm sure she will bounce back to her normal self soon.
Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes.  We really appreciate the kindness!

Well, the bright side is she's young enough she probably won't remember it. She is so cute. So glad everything went well (and your hubby got to go with you...WHEW!).

Aw...I'm glad to hear everything went well. I am such a horrible friend, I didn't even know anything was wrong - you can't tell with how cute and sweet and lovable she is all the time. I'm glad you got great news though...and she DOES look cute in that hospital gown!

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that everything went well. Those kinds of things are always so stressful. That's awesome that Jeff was able to take the day off and come along as well. Everything always seems to be so much better when I have Spencer right by my side.

Bella looks SO adorable in her little hospital gown!!

Cia Bella,
What a little trooper my baby Bella is. You were in Mimi and Papa's prayers.
Love,
Mimi
PS You do look stylish in your hospital gown and gold sandals. You remembered Mimi's fashion advice - accesories make the outfit!

Oh, so glad everything turned out well for Bella! It only just now occurred to me you should've left Logan with us! Pretty sure that was the day we were HOME ALL DAY. Rats. Also... why didn't they let you go to the Rockville extention of Children's National? It's literally a block away! I was afraid we'd have to go into DC for Brooklyn's eye, but they were able to just send us there instead. Maybe they only do eyes there. Or something.
