Yesterday we were able to go to a place called Brookside Gardens. We had heard about it from our friend Krista. It was the first time we had gone and it was amazing. It is a huge (50 acres) public garden that is completely free. We had such an incredible time walking through the grounds, and I can't say enough about how beautiful it was. It was a very family friendly park, we didn't have any problems taking our stroller around the paths. It was just an extremely relaxing and enjoyable day.
Here are a few fun pictures of our kiddos walking around the garden.
The rose garden was one of my favorite parts. I think it was one of Logan's favorite parts too.
These are just a few snap shots of the grounds, and some of the fun items that we spotted on our walk.
I had fun taking some pictures of my beautiful family in the gorgeous surroundings.
After leaving the gardens we headed over to the Ikea that was close by. Jeff had never been before, so I thought it would be fun just to walk around. We headed up to the restaurant first off, to load up on some tasty food.
This picture totally cracks me up. She is trying to be so sly stealing fries off daddy's plate.
Logan was impressed with the food too.
I'm in love with these little chairs. I would love to get two of them for the kids. I can just picture Logan and Bella sitting in them reading their books.
Bella and Logan were both in love with these giant stuffed puppy dogs. The dogs were as big as they were.
She's definitely worth a lot more than $9.99
We had been talking about wanting to find one of those play mats for Logan that has a car track on it. We went online and they were priced at $50.00 or more. We found this one at Ikea for $14.00, and Logan LOVES it.
After we got home and took naps we headed over to our pool for the first time.
This is about as far as Logan got, because the water was freezing. He put one foot in and then came running back to me screaming. I hope we haven't traumatized him.
Bella on the other hand couldn't get enough of it. It was so cold she was shivering but kept wanting to get in. I finally said enough and told her no more, she also screamed.
This was pretty much what Logan and Bella did. Logan would watch cautiously from the edge and Bella would dive in with daddy.
It was such a fun and relaxing Saturday. It was an absolutely perfect day with family. I loved it!

We totally have the same car rug. Very fun.
FANTASTIC post, Shauna!! I loved it! Some of those pictures from the garden looked like postcards!
And I loved those little car road maps when I was a kid also! We found one at a yard sale for $3 so I was stoked. Hopefully my girls like that! :) Yours was a bit better, and new so you can't beat $14!!! And I'm a bit jealous you guys live near a pool! Cold or not!
What a fabulous Saturday! Spencer, Madi, and I are going to have to go to Brookside Gardens SOON!! Gorgeous pictures! And then to top it off with Ikea AND the pool!! How FUN!! I love relaxing Saturdays like that!

Wow, what a great Saturday!!! I'm sorry we bailed on you guys for the garden, but I'm glad you had such a great time! I LOVE the car mat! My brothers had one when they were little and loved it! We seriously need to take a day trip to Ikea sometime... don't they have that little play place for kids???
Please put the gardens on my list of "places to see when Mimi comes"!
I think Papa needs to make one of those mushrooms.
And Logan you are just like your mommy. She never liked the water much either.
